Twa Recruitin Sergeants

As a member of The Scotland Supporters Club and a 'Footsoldier' with 'The Tartan Army' for the past 10 years, I felt that despite all the great songs that we have associated with the Scottish National Football Team we don't really have a song about the supporters, 'The Tartan Army'.

'Twa Recruitin Sergeants' is a traditional Scottish song, which was about two sergeants in the north of Scotland looking for new recruits to join the Black Watch. I have re-written the lyrics but kept the original melody. The new lyrics can be seen on this page.

I hope this song can become somewhat of a campaign song during our 2010 World Cup Qualifiers and if the boys do the job, on to the World Cup in South Africa.
Each time this song is downloaded I will donate 30p to the to The Scottish Football Association Community Scheme which will hopefully help nurture the stars of the future.

Twa Recruitin Sergeants (Tartan Army Style)

There were Twa Recruitin Sergeants frae The Tartan Army
Headin' far frae hame, in search o' victory
They've gathered many thousands but more they want tae see
Sae list ma bonnie laddie and come awa wi' me

They're comin' frae the north, the south, the east and west
They travel roon the globe for they are the world's best
Frae Inverness and Glesga, frae Ayr and frae Dundee
Sae list ma bonnie laddie and come awa wi' me

And it's over the mountains and over the main
By air, by sea, by bus and by train
Wi' a feather in yer bunnet, yer kilt abin yer knee
So join The Tartan Army and come awa wi' me

Wi' scarves aroon our necks and bunnets on oor heeds
We'll wave oor flags and banners when Scotland take the lead
The pubs we will drink dry o' beer and whisky
Sae list ma bonnie laddie and come awa wi' me

Chorus

Noo some may miss a sweetheart, a wee lassie, a wee lad
But men they go to battle when there's victory to be had
So prey ye dinnae see them until efter final day
Sae list ma bonnie laddie and come awa wi' me

So come gather roon and let us rally tae oor team
They have the look o' champions they're the best we've ever seen
So gee the lads a shout (SCOTLAND) and glorious they will be
Sae list ma bonnie laddie and come awa wi' me

Chorus x2
