On a Day of Days

Kishmul's Galley
To open the album one of my favourite songs, from the Island of Barra, about one of McNeil of Barra's galleys sailing back to Kishmul Castle.
The News from Moidart
Written by Lady Nairne this song tells of the hope and expectations that the people of Scotland held after Bonnie Prince Charlie's return to Scotland to begin the Jacobite Rebellion.
Paddy's Green Shamrock Shore
A wonderful Irish Emigration song highlighting the pain people went through when leaving loved ones behind during the potato famine.
We're No Gonnae Leave Here
The first of two songs on the album by Davy Steele, this tells of the closure of a factory in Uddingston during Margaret Thatcher's Conservative Government, an extremely powerful song.
Caledonia
What more can be said about Dougie MacLean's great song - a classic!

To finish off with the second Davy Steele song on the album, a tale of lost love with a great sing-along chorus.
